Master’s in Risk and Environment / Social Sciences – Specialization in Risk and Crisis Engineering (IRC)

Overview

The Master’s in Risk and Environment/Social Sciences – Specialization in Risk and Crisis Engineering (IRC) trains experts, professionals and researchers in analyzing and managing risks and crises.

This program is offered by one of the largest universities in France and is made up of two master’s specialties : “Risk and Environment” offered by Université Paris Cité (with eight specializations available ; course catalogue here) and “Social Sciences” offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Graduates of the IRC Master’s – the only risk and crisis management and analysis program of its kind to train professionals and researchers with dual expertise – leave the University with a specialized degree in both social sciences and engineering.

 

Objectives

 

The IRC Master’s program aims to develop students’ ability to identify problems and dissect views on issues related to risks and crises. It also aims to shape high-level professionals who are not only capable of managing routine situations but also of adapting and innovating when confronted with highly unpredictable and uncertain events.

How to Apply

The timeline and methods of applying are published each year on the IRC Master’s website and on the website of Université Paris Cité.

Application period for the 2021-2022 academic year (for M1 and M2 students): from March 15 to May 15, 2021.

All candidates must send their applications along with the required documents using the University’s E-Candidat website.

The following documents are mandatory:

  • The IRC Master’s application form
  • Full CV with photo
  • A cover letter
  • Copy of diplomas
  • Transcripts (undergraduate to graduate)
