Master’s in Language Education – Specialization in French as a Foreign Language, Second Language Teaching and Interculturality (FLE -FLS)
Overview
This master’s program is rooted both in research and professional applications. The aim is to produce trainers, teachers and researchers in Language Education and Teaching French as a Foreign and Second Language.
The degree is open to recent graduates and to continuing students.
It is accredited by three institutions, namely Sorbonne Nouvelle University – Paris 3, Université Paris Cité (Saint-Germain-des-Prés campus) and INALCO. The second year of the program offers a specialization in teaching French as a second language (for migrants, literacy purposes, etc.) and interculturality.
Graduates of the program will have many job opportunities in teaching French in France and abroad.
Objectives
The Master’s in Language Education presents students to the professional aspect of language teaching by having them acquire multidisciplinary knowledge and the skills required to teach a foreign language. The program also imparts a wide range of methodological skills from the humanities and social sciences (interviews, lexicostatistics, professional writing, etc.), allowing students to access careers linked to teaching culture (with the Institut Français, ministries, publishers, etc.).
Our graduates will have career prospects both in France and abroad thanks to the versatility of the program, which is based in solid academic teaching and methodology.

A preliminary examination of applications will take place and successful candidates will be contacted to sit a written and oral test at the Saint-German-des-Prés campus at the end of June or early July.
Students in France are to apply using Université Paris Cité’ platform E-Candidat
Students whose countries are affiliated with the Etudes en France procedure must use their platform to apply. Students whose countries are not affiliated with this procedure must use Université Paris Cité’ platform E-Candidat.
For candidates residing abroad, an online test can be arranged.
